Use Of Colors With Feng Shui

  Colors have symbolisms that differ from one culture to another, and usage gives them the power written in tradition or custom, but common meanings do exist and they are not aleatory.


Thus, the colors feng shui uses are the same as in the spectrum we learned about in school, but additionally, they are classified according to the yin-yang alternation principle.

All the colors from red to yellow and orange are considered to belong to the level of yang chi whereas those from green to violet-black belong to the yin chi. Here is the symbolisms of colors feng shui and Western traditions rely on.

Depending on the five essential elements, water, wood, earth, fire and metal, the cardinal points have their specific colors.

Feng shui combines and interprets these colors according to the various aspects in one's life.

Thus, red corresponds to the element fire and to the cardinal point south. Western tradition considers red the symbol of life, warmth and strength but aggression, anxiety and sexuality remain underlying connotations.
